The wedding season is upon us! And that means we’re also entering peak wedding food season. From the first glimpse of your florist’s handiwork to the last morsel of leftover cake, it seems as if every minor and major event in your life is being celebrated with an elaborate feast. And why not? A wedding is a day when two people become one, and so it only makes sense that this special day should be marked by a similarly special meal.

The type of feast you choose will naturally depend on your personal taste and the kind of reception you want to host, but no matter what you go for, there’s always going to be an abundance of options available. Here are five delicacies specifically designed for weddings:

Butter chicken and naan-samosa

Butter chicken is a classic Indian dish that’s easy to make (and easy to serve to a crowd), as well as a good choice if you want to include some different foods from your culture in the menu. For the naan, try making some garlic naan.

You can make it by mixing a couple of teaspoons of crushed garlic with a teaspoon of salt, a little turmeric, and about a cup of warm water. Once the mixture is soya you can knead the dough and prepare it as you normally would. Serve the chicken with the naan, Roti, or Rice, and a selection of pickles. Naan-samosa is a perfect accompaniment for butter chicken.

Traditional South Indian thali with rice

As the name suggests, a traditional South Indian thali includes many different items such as curries, rice, raw vegetables, and pickles. You could also serve this kind of thali with white wine, beer, or another drink. If you’re having a south Indian wedding, you could include a south Indian thali as part of the menu, with curried rice, sambhar, and poppadum, as well as a rasam or sambhar podi.

You could also serve a south Indian thali as a vegetarian option for your non-vegetarian guests. Other than that, you could also serve a north Indian thali as an option for your guests who prefer a mix of cuisines. If you want to include more vegetarian items, you could serve a thali with a dal, a roti and some pickles, and some curries. Similarly, you could include a thali with a naan, roti, and some pickles, and some curries. For drinks, you could serve iced tea, lemonade, or another drink.

Mughlai tandoori forshaadan

This Mughlai dish has a lot of flavours and is typically served with pilau rice. Forshaadan is a dish that’s best served with a heavy meal like thali as it’s said to provide energy to the person consuming it. When preparing forshaadan, you can use chicken, mutton, or both. You can also add other ingredients such as potato, onion, tomato, or a combination of these. The best part about forshaadan is that it can be served as an appetizer or a side dish, and it’s easy to make. You can even use it to make a quick snack.

Mexican horchata and flan

Horchata is a drink that originates from Mexico and is commonly consumed during the wedding season. It’s best served as an accompaniment to other foods and can be made easily at home. If you want to learn how to make horchata, you can check out our recipe. For dessert, there are few drinks that are as refreshing as Mexican horchata. You can serve it with the flan, or with the Christmas cake, or simply as a drink on its own.

End with a sweet treat

There are few desserts that are more perfect at the end of a meal than ice cream. It’s also a traditional American wedding dessert, and you can make it at home or buy it from a store. If you have a family member who is fond of baking, you can ask them to make you a cake that’s rich in flavor and is easy to make. Another option is to visit a bakery and choose one of their rich cakes as it’s sure to be a sweet ending to a delicious meal.
